Privacy notice for the customer register

This privacy notice has been prepared in accordance with Sections 10 and 24 of the Finnish Personal Data Act (523/1999) and Articles 12 and 13 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU 2016/679).

When you make a booking or use the Bensalenkkarit.fi service, we collect personal data from you. This data enables us to provide you with a smooth and secure vehicle rental service and to continuously develop our operations.

3. Purpose of processing personal data

Personal data is processed for the provision of the vehicle rental service, management of the customer relationship and for billing purposes.

The data may also be used for service development, statistics and marketing, if the customer has given their consent to such use.

4. Data content of the register

The register may contain the following information:

• basic customer details (name, personal identity code, address, phone number, email address)

• driving licence and payment details (e.g. the last four digits of a credit or debit card)

• information on bookings and previous rentals

• permissions and prohibitions related to direct marketing

• information related to invoicing and payment transactions

• communication related to customer service situations

• the user’s IP address and technical browser information

• possible vehicle location data (if used in the service)

5. Sources of data

The data is obtained from the customer themself when making a booking or in other customer service situations.

6. Disclosure and transfer of data

Data may be disclosed, within the limits permitted by law, to partners who participate in providing the service (e.g. payment service providers, invoicing services, web hosting providers).

7. Data security

The register is stored in a protected system to which only those employees who need the data to perform their work tasks have access.

Data is processed over encrypted connections, and backups are stored securely.

8. Rights of the data subject

The data subject has the right to:

• obtain access to and inspect their personal data

• request the rectification of inaccurate data

• request the erasure of data (“right to be forgotten”)

• object to direct marketing

• lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority (Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman in Finland)
